Subjects Taught
Special Education

I graduated from Texas A&M University-Commerce in 2014, with a Bachelors of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies. My certifications include Early Childhood-6th Grade Generalist with an ESL supplement, as well as Early Childhood-12th grade Special Education.

My teaching career began in Special Education as a paraprofessional, or teacher's aide, from August 2009-May 2014.  Once I obtained my degree and teaching certification I was promoted in August 2014 to teach 6th grade English/Language Arts.  After teaching ELAR for one year I moved to my current position as the TLC 2 teacher for ROE, which is where I have been for the past few years.  I have always been inspired to work with children of varying walks of life and disabilities, and have been grateful to have the opportunity to continue to work with the amazing students in the Autism and TLC programs.

I live in Red Oak with my husband and three girls.  Our family pets include two dogs and a koi pond full of fish.  We also like to garden.  Every summer our backyard is full of tomatoes and okra, among many other assorted vegetables and herbs.  We have lived in Our home since 2007; although I grew up in this area and have always enjoyed the perks of living in a small town that is close to a big city.

I have many different hobbies and activities that I enjoy doing throughout the year.  I enjoy reading self-help and spiritual books, watching movies that are from the mystery and drama genre, and listening to music from all eras.  When hanging out with the kids we like to ride our bikes to the park, visit places like the Perot Museum and the Museum of Nature and Science, and swim with our extended family or go to water parks.
